Did you know that your Zagcard is also a Bus Pass?
This is true. Every Gonzaga student can ride any public bus anywhere around Spokane with their Zagcard! Gonzaga’s campus is conveniently nestled between routes 25 (Division and Ruby), 26 and 28 (Hamilton), and 39 (Mission). Head over to the STA website at https://www.spokanetransit.com to see a full map of Spokane, or download the Transit Tracker- Spokane App on your smartphone to help plan a trip!
Use the route 60 bus to get a ride to and from the Airport, instead of paying for an Uber or Lyft!
Use the route 25 bus to get to the movie theater at the North Town Mall!
Use the route 39 bus to get downtown!
And many more!
Riding public transportation is a great way to save money and reduce stress while living in an urban area. Even more, using public buses helps reduce your environmental impact. Buses cut down on carbon emissions by reducing the number of cars on the road, and increase good air quality by mitigating areas of highly congested traffic in cities’ downtowns. Bus transits can even produce 33% less greenhouse gas emissions per passenger mile than the average single-occupancy vehicle. Even here in Spokane, the Spokane Transit Authority (STA) is working to reduce their carbon emissions by using 22 Hybrid buses in their fleet. So help Spokane, help support sustainable efforts, and help reduce your own environmental footprint by riding the bus!
