Sustainability Leadership Programs
--
Would you like to learn more about sustainability on the global, national, and local level? Do you want to develop the knowledge and skills to be an advocate for sustainability in your communities? Then Gonzaga’s Sustainability Leadership Programs are for you!
Participants will become active leaders in the sustainability issues and initiatives that shape our communities and region. Through interactive sessions concentrating on topics like environmental justice, water, energy, and waste, participants become adept in sustainability practices and bring this knowledge back to their workplaces, departments, and peers. This experience will give participants the tools to be agents of change that will serve their communities and advance Gonzaga’s mission to commit to social justice, be in solidarity with the poor and vulnerable, and care for the planet.
We offer three programs, for Gonzaga students, Gonzaga employees, and Spokane community members.
The Student Sustainability Leadership Program meets every Wednesday at 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM from January 19th 2021 through April 27th 2021.
The Employee Sustainability Ambassador Program meets every Wednesday at 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM from January 19th 2021 through April 27th 2021.
The Spokane Climate Resiliency Academy for community members meets every Tuesday at 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM from January 18th 2021 through April 26th 2021.
Applications are officially open to prospective individuals and close on November 18th. We also have nominations; if you have a colleague or peer who you believe would be interested in participating in one of our programs, please nominate them and they will be sent more information. Nominations will close November 14th. Any questions, please email montesi@gonzaga.edu
